Sanjoy Saha, Ph.D.

Bio
Dr. Sanjoy Saha's research interests focus on health behavior promotion, dietary assessment, nutrition education, and food and nutrition security. As part of his doctoral dissertation at Texas Tech University (TTU), Dr. Saha investigated the effectiveness of a nutrition education intervention with or without a school garden to promote nutrition knowledge, fruit and vegetable (F&V) preference, F&V eating self-efficacy, cooking, and gardening self-efficacy among elementary school children in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Saha worked as a research assistant at TTU under the supervision of Dr. Wilna Oldewage-Theron, and actively involved in implementing different community nutrition projects such as a needs assessment of nutrition education among seniors, assessing prevalence and determinants of food insecurity among university students in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Saha published several manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and attended several conferences such as the American Society of Nutrition, Society of Nutrition Education and Behavior. Currently, Dr. Saha has been working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Louisiana.
