James Preiss is the director of financial services at Texas Tech K-12 and an alumnus of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

His professional background includes work with the Department of Defense in Germany, banking in Indianapolis, participation in telecom startups in Irving and Lubbock, and serving as a hospital administrator in Lubbock. His contributions to Texas Tech University span University College, a wind energy grant, TTUISD, and Texas Tech K-12. He currently oversees financial management for Texas Tech K-12, which has an annual revenue of $15 million.

Outside of work, Preiss enjoys soccer officiating, jogging, hiking, backpacking, snow skiing, traveling, and spending time with his wife and son.
