How the Program Works
This program is made possible through funding from the U.S. Department of Education and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Texas Tech K-12 is proud to partner with TWC and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to provide this FREE program to adult learners across Texas.
- Free Enrollment: The program is available to Texas residents who have not completed high school.
- Free GED Testing: After completing the GED prep course, eligible students will receive GED testing waivers, so they can take the GED exam for little to no cost.
- Comprehensive Support: You'll have access to tutoring, career training, and college readiness workshops to help you succeed.
- Online Learning: All courses are available online, making it easy for you to learn from home or anywhere with an internet connection.
Eligibility
The TWC Adult Education Program is available to Texas residents who have not completed high school. Eligibility is based on your educational goals:
- High School Diploma: Available to adults aged 19 or older who want to earn their high school diploma.
- GED Preparation: Available to adults aged 18 or older who want to prepare for the GED exam.
Cost & Support
- Free Enrollment: This program is free for all eligible participants.
- GED Testing Fees: GED students aged 18 to 20 are responsible for exam fees (approximately $170 for all four tests or $42.25 per subject).
- Comprehensive Support: Participants have access to tutoring, career training, and college readiness workshops to support their success.
- Online Learning: All courses are available online, allowing you to learn from home or anywhere with an internet connection.
