Understanding Course Progression

At TTU K-12, we create our courses so that each lesson builds upon the previous one. One thing you will notice in this course is the use of Course Progression. As you begin to complete assignments, you will notice that if you attempt to skip ahead, your assignments are not visible or are grayed out. Once you complete and receive a grade for an assignment, the next assignment will appear. You must complete all of the assignments in a lesson before you can move on to the next lesson.

Assignments are grayed out or hidden until the previous assignments are completed.

In the screen shots below are notifications you may see for lessons that need to be completed before you can continue in your course. After you complete an assignment, a check mark will appear in the box to the right of the assignment's link.

In order to allow students to progress at their own pace and not cause an unnecessary delay we have adopted the following progression schematic:

• Students will always have at least two lessons unlocked at all times. This will ensure that after a student submits an assignment in a lesson, they will not have to wait for the grade before moving to the next lesson. Only the Assignments and Final Exams are locked.
  
  
• All instructions, discussions, and reading material are unlocked at all times so that students can read ahead if they desire.
  
  
• Some courses may have more or fewer lessons than this schematic:

1. Lesson 1 starts unlocked.
2. Lesson 2 starts unlocked.
3. Lesson 3 is only unlocked when Lesson 1 is complete and graded.
4. Lesson 4 is only unlocked when Lesson 1 & 2 are complete and graded.
5. Lesson 5 is only unlocked when Lesson 3 is complete and graded.
6. Lesson 6 is only unlocked when Lesson 4 is complete and graded.
7. Lesson 7 is only unlocked when Lesson 5 is complete and graded.
8. Lesson 8 is only unlocked when Lesson 6 is complete and graded.
9. Lesson 9 is only unlocked when Lesson 7 is complete and graded.
10. Lesson 10 is only unlocked when Lesson 8 is complete and graded.
11. Final Exam is only unlocked when the LAST TWO Lessons are complete and graded.
