Texas Tech University

Letter from the Superintendent

Dear TTU K-12 Community,

The campus has quieted down a bit, but as you know, TTU K-12 has no downtime. We are proud of the fact that we can offer alternative education whenever and wherever. We really do have great opportunities to help kids!

For the rest of the campus, Red Raider Orientation (RRO) is everywhere. New Red Raiders are excitedly scoping out their future opportunities of the college life as their parents look around a little nervously while beaming with pride. Change is coming for the new students and their parents. Change and pride continue to be on our plates also.

Part of that change has been the migration of student work from the LMS Moodle to Blackboard. Some teachers still have students in both systems, but we are transitioning out of Moodle and into Blackboard. All newly enrolled courses are being placed in Blackboard.

On the pride side, we graduated 19 students who made their way to Lubbock to walk the stage. Our Associate Vice Provost and leader, Dr. Louder, gave an outstanding commencement address, and from the students' rose presentation to their parents, to the singing of the "Matador Song", memories were made and milestones were recognized in grand style! The ones who attended commencement represented more than 300 students who have graduated this year to date. That success is directly tied to our teaching staff and their extra efforts this time of year with our students in the non-traditional instructional setting. On behalf of the proud parents and excited graduates, we say, "thank you, teachers!"

Our grounds crew at Texas Tech do an outstanding job, and as we know, we haven't had a lot of rain to help. Come on up, drive through campus and observe the color. . .and the pride!

Come see us,
