It's spring and the Texas Tech campus is absolutely beautiful. If you're in Lubbock, please come by to take a look around.

Even though we are asynchronous, we pause at this time of year to hold our stateside graduation ceremony. This ceremony is a direct result of the work not only of the students, but the teachers and parents also that help make it happen. Since its inception, TTU K-12 has graduated 4,332 students as of the 2017-2018 academic year, with this year's total yet to be added. Our ceremony will be June 1, and we hope to see everyone there. Please see the details later in this newsletter.

As the teaching staff knows, the evaluations have been completed for the previous year. The TTU K-12 academic administration is continuing to create the appraisal instrument that will be incorporated for the next appraisal period. That instrument, incorporating Quality Course Teaching and Instructional Practice (QCTIP) tenets, is a component of the Online Learning Consortium. We look forward to continuing to offer pertinent instructional tools for our teachers to assure continuous improvement at TTU K-12.

Melanie Hart, vice provost for eLearning & Academic Partnerships, accepted a Campus Internationalization award at Texas Tech's 2019 Global Vision Awards on behalf of TTU K-12. International TTU K-12 graduates have gone on to study at universities such as the London School of Economics, Amherst University, Penn State University; and many have continued their education at Texas Tech University. Congratulations to the teaching staff and to all involved that have helped make this happen.

New courses are coming up, and tools for flexible instruction continue to be developed. Along with the Proctorio system allowing students to take exams at any time, we are piloting online CBEs. Also in the discussion stage are online tutoring options for our students. We'll have more on that later. Stay tuned!
