In December, TTU K-12 celebrated signing seven new schools with Liberty Education partners, including Agostiniano Nossa Senhora de Fátima School in Goiânia.

Not only is TTU K-12 expanding its presence in Brazil, but administrators have been working hard to make sure the site coordinators and instructors are well-equipped to oversee the program. Brazil also holds commencements for high school in December each year at the end of its academic calendar.

In November about a dozen coordinators from Brazil traveled to the Texas Tech campus in Lubbock to undergo several days of training and learn about courses, enhancements and opportunities for students like National Honor Society and Student Council.

A contingent of TTU K-12 administrators also traveled to Brazil in December to attend meetings and trainings with site coordinators and instructors.

During the December visit, the combined group of Brazil partners and TTU K-12 officials recognized the addition of more than half a dozen schools under the Liberty Education Partnership, including: Agostiniano Mendel School and Agostiniano São José School, both in the city of São Paulo, and Nomelini School in Barretos, all in the state of São Paulo; Cristo Rei School, Linhares, and Escola São Domingos, Vitória, both in the state of Espírito Santo; Agostiniano Nossa Senhora de Fátima School, Goiânia, in the state of Goiás; and Sarah Dawsey School, Rio de Janeiro, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Also, in mid-December, the TTU K-12 administrators attended commencement ceremonies for students graduating with their concurrent diplomas. Liberty Education held its first, at Colégio Acadêmico in Limeira, with five concurrent-diploma students being presented their Brazilian and American diplomas.

With partnerships in Brazil for more than 20 years, and more recent additions in China and Vietnam, TTU K-12 is working to advance collaborations in several other countries including Costa Rica, Haiti and others.
