Hello, TTU K-12 Community,

When I wrote in my March superintendent letter “Here's to a much better spring 2021,” I had no idea the many ways that would reverberate back to us.

Our annual commencement ceremony is Saturday (May 22) on the Texas Tech campus. Already we have about 30 of your classmates attending. We are so excited and grateful to host these students and their families and to be able to celebrate their accomplishments with them. You are invited to watch the live stream on our Facebook page at 1 p.m. that afternoon.

At the end of April, one of your own was named Texas Tech University's 60th Masked Rider. Ashley Adams is Class of 2013, earned our competitive scholarship to Texas Tech three times, and is now a graduate student in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Read more about her journey in this newsletter.

Another point of pride for TTU K-12 is the quality and caliber of our teachers. Jeanye Wester, who teaches several high school courses for us, is a finalist for the eDynamic Learning Career Compass Awards, one of 20 teachers from around the country to earn a nomination. The winners will be announced May 22 as well.

These are just a few of the remarkable things going on in TTU K-12. You will find more highlights and success stories in the pages of this newsletter.

With summer almost upon us, I'd like to offer one more reminder that TTU K-12 courses are portable and flexible, should your family need that option over the summer months, if your family travels or your student works or has other commitments. We're here to serve you!

To all of our 2020 and 2021 graduates, thanks for choosing TTU K-12, and wreck ‘em!

Sincerely,

Justin R Louder, Ed.D.
