TTU K-12 welcomes Brenda Warwick as our new academic administrative coordinator.

Warwick worked as an Educational Interpreter for 12 years, but along the way was honored to interpret for amazing teachers inspiring her to go into teaching. She has taught both high school and elementary for 11 years.

She earned her master’s in education at Texas Tech, which will always have a place in her heart, especially since her mother retired from the university.

Warwick loves that the TTU K-12 program provides options for students to earn their education in a way that works for them. From students attempting to make up failed grades or trying to graduate early, TTU K-12 offers a flexible schedule for all students.

“I like knowing that I have a part in the process of education,” she said. “It’s a small but important part with teachers getting to do what they love, instill knowledge and students to gain knowledge in a manner that works best for them.”

Among many other administrative duties, she assists in the hiring process by keeping up with applicants. Once the teachers are hired, she updates the documentation on all the classes they will teach. Warwick also helps find substitutes for when teachers are out and places orders for supplies when needed.

But from her teaching days, she still has words of wisdom for the students.

“Remember, not everyone learns the same, so don’t be hard on yourself, or others, if your style seems to be atypical. Doing what works best for you is what ensures success.”

She added, “I hope that TTU K-12 continues to grow, so more students have the opportunity to earn their education in a manner that fits them best.”
