TTU K-12 2022 Commencement Ceremony

On May 21, Texas Tech University High School held its annual on-site graduation, celebrating the 332 students who completed their requirements in the past academic year, and honoring the 33 students who came to the ceremony to represent their class and walk the stage to receive their diplomas.

The 2022 commencement speaker was Genevieve Durham DeCesaro, professor of dance and vice provost for faculty success at Texas Tech. Durham DeCesaro previously served as interim dean of the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, vice provost for Academic Affairs, associate chair of the School of Theatre & Dance and head of the dance program.

Among the class of 2021-2022, TTU K-12 graduates will attend Texas Tech University, Abilene Christian University, Angelo State University, Austin Community College, Blinn College, California State University, Denison University, Houston Community College, Hussian College Los Angeles, Kansas State University, Lamar University, Liberty University, Lone Star College, Northeast Lakeview College, Pacific University, Reed College, Sam Houston State University,
San Jacinto College, South Plains College, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, Texas State University, Texas Woman’s University, Trinity University, University of Arkansas, University of Houston, University of Leeds, University of Mary Hardin – Baylor, University of North Texas, University of Texas Permian Basin, University of Texas at San Antonio and many more.


The 2021-2022 graduates come from six states in the U.S. and four foreign countries: Arizona, California (2), Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas (77), Haiti, Malaysia, Vietnam (2) and Brazil (244).


The highest GPA in this year’s graduating class is 4.54 and there are 18 students with a 4.0 GPA or higher. The average GPA is 3.36. The average SAT scores are 593 on the evidence-based reading and writing portion, 586 on the math portion and 1179 on the overall total SAT score. The average ACT composite score is 23. End-of-course exam averages are 4532 for English 1, 4579 for English 2, 4451 for Algebra 1, 4622 for Biology and 4744 for U.S. History.
