Global Education Solutions

From Anywhere
For kindergarten through the 12th grade or beyond, TTU K-12 has solutions that fit your needs.

Organization

TTU K-12 is a special purpose school approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

TTU K-12 History

Texas Tech University High School was established by legislative and state board action in 1993 as a “Special Purpose District” designed to educate students with special situations and whose educational needs are not adequately met by traditional school districts. In 1998, the Commissioner of Education granted expansion of the program to include kindergarten through 8th grade. Currently, TTU K-12 serves kindergarten through 12th grade students.

TTU K-12 is a Texas Education Agency (TEA)-approved program that offers education opportunities for K-12 students, schools and school districts. Our elementary, middle and high school options meet the same rigorous standards as traditional brick and mortar schools. The difference is when and where the students learn.

TTU K-12 students have the opportunity to choose when and where they study – it doesn’t matter where they live or when they decide to start.

Students can choose to enroll in the Full-Time Diploma Program to pursue a Texas high school diploma or take courses and/or Credit by Exams (CBEs) to supplement their current school or home school curriculum. Regardless of the option students choose, they can begin at any time. Our self-paced courses have no enrollment deadlines.

Endorsements

TTU K-12 is approved by the Texas Education Agency and all courses and CBEs are aligned with the state-mandated Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), which have been determined as important standards for students to learn and apply throughout a course. Upon graduation, high school students earn a Texas high school diploma. TTU K-12 is also approved by the NCAA.

Curriculum

TTU K-12 curriculum is written by Texas-certified teachers. TEA approval ensures that all TTU K-12 curriculum meets the standards set by the State of Texas and that students will be prepared for Texas End of Course (EOC) exams.

Students become part of the Texas Tech family when they enroll as a full-time student in TTU K-12 elementary, middle or high school. In the TTU K-12 high school full-time diploma program, students can earn a Texas high school diploma and may be eligible for scholarships to attend Texas Tech University.

Faculty

Whether enrolled full-time or part-time, students will work closely with TTU K-12’s Texas-certified teachers, and a staff of advisors and administrators to support successful completion of educational requirements.
