Remote Proctoring
Our online exams include remote proctoring that alleviates the need for a physical proctor. Our remote proctoring solution is a tool called Proctorio. Using Proctorio, students are able to take the online exam anytime, anywhere once they are ready. There is no need to secure a proctor, collaborate on an exam time, and travel to the agreed-upon testing location. Students can take the exam from their home computer at any time.
Students are required to have a working microphone and webcam available, and remain in full view of the camera, when taking the exam. Students are also required to use the Google Chrome browser and download the Proctorio Chrome Extension before attempting their exam. Additional setup information can be found by visiting the online proctoring student FAQ.
You will be required to have a valid ID and will be asked to test your microphone, speakers, and scan your testing environment before beginning your exam. During the room scan, be sure to not only to scan the room around you, but also your desk workspace. Please identify any materials, such as blank paper and writing utensils, that may be used during the exam. If TTU K-12 instructors cannot confirm your activity during your exam, your score may be invalidated.
Just like an in-person proctored exam, it is important to ensure academic honesty during your remote proctored exam. Your testing area should be clear of all items other than your computer for the exam and your face and eyes must be in full view of the camera as you are testing. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in you receiving a zero on the exam. Examples of items that are not allowed are:
- Books
- Notes
- Notebooks
- Calculator (unless otherwise specified)
- Cell phones
- Other electronic and wireless devices (iPad, tablets, etc.)
You are allowed a maximum of three continuous hours to complete the exam.
You may not open other browser tabs during the exam (unless otherwise specified). Other acceptable tabs would include links provided in the exam such as TTU K-12 provided formula sheets or other TTU K-12 provided resources.
You may NOT exit the exam for any reason. If you experience technical difficulties, please try to log in again and message your teacher to let them know.
