The NSRL is committed to the mission of building and archiving a library of our planet's natural heritage for education and research purposes. The NSRL has much to offer researchers, teachers, students, and the general public.
As a resource for relevant, current data directly affecting our neighboring communities and the state as a whole, the NSRL website provides a searchable goldmine of information. Our research topics range from local and regional to state and global concerns.
Outreach, engagement, and educational activities available to the public include presentations by NSRL Curators to community groups and schools, traveling trunks (see Education Division of the Museum), NSRL-based museum exhibits, the online databases of the NSRL's collections, and the online edition of The Mammals of Texas.
