The 2025 Engaged Scholarship Summit has been rescheduled to this Fall!

For the 7th year, the 2025 Engaged Scholarship Summit brings together Texas Tech faculty,
staff, students, and community partners to explore the theory and practice of engaged
scholarship in teaching, research, and creative activity. The event will highlight
multi-disciplinary programs and initiatives designed to foster and sustain mutually
beneficial partnerships between the university and external communities for lasting
societal impact. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with engaged scholars
from across the university while also connecting with potential community partners.
All activities will occur in the Helen DeVitt Jones Sculpture Court on the West side
of the Museum of Texas Tech University. Free parking is available in the Sculpture
Court parking lot located on the West side of the Museum.

The Engaged College Program at Texas Tech was launched in the Fall of 2025. Five
colleges were accepted into the program. Each launched initiatives to further embed
outreach and engagement into their culture. In this session, representatives from
each of the participating colleges will provide an overview of their current initiatives
and their plans for the future.

Midday Session
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Networking Lunch & Community Partners Presentation: 'Telling Their Story'
Two of Texas Techs community partners will share stories of long-standing partnerships
with Texas Tech faculty, staff, and students. These partnerships have been mutually
beneficial, helping these organizations address organizational needs and fill gaps
in existing resources. Benefits to faculty have included research opportunities, publications,
and funding. Students have benefited from gaining hands-on experiences in “real-world”
settings and taking new knowledge back to the classroom.

Afternoon Sessions
1:15 - 2:30 p.m. | Overview of Programmatic Engagement Pathways (PEPs)
Outreach and Engagement at Texas Tech University encompasses the Office of Outreach
and Engagement, the Museum of Texas Tech, the National Ranching Heritage Center, Texas
Tech Press, the Center at Junction, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Each
unit has developed Programmatic Engagement Pathways (so-called “PEPs”) designed to
support and facilitate faculty, staff, and student engagement with communities. Attend
this session to learn more about these PEPs and how you can easily plug into existing
programming, tools, and resources to conduct engagement activities with community
partners.

Whether you are already a member or just interested in learning more about Texas Tech's
newly formed ESP Network, join us at this event to discover available resources, programs,
and professional development opportunities in Engaged Scholarship offered through
the Office of Outreach and Engagement. You will also be able to connect with potential
community partners and like-minded colleagues around common areas of need or interest.
