Museum of Texas Tech
For the 7th year, the 2025 Engaged Scholarship Summit brings together Texas Tech faculty, staff, students, and community partners to explore the theory and practice of engaged scholarship in teaching, research, and creative activity. The event will highlight multi-disciplinary programs and initiatives designed to foster and sustain mutually beneficial partnerships between the university and external communities for lasting societal impact. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with engaged scholars from across the university while also connecting with potential community partners.
All activities will occur in the Helen DeVitt Jones Sculpture Court on the West side of the Museum of Texas Tech University. Free parking is available in the Sculpture Court parking lot located on the West side of the Museum.

Attendees will have the chance to discover valuable resources, pick up swag, learn about partnership opportunities, and explore programs, offices, and initiatives that support the development of engaged scholarship projects.

Dr. Steve Abel is a nationally recognized leader in engaged scholarship who has guided universities across the country in developing impactful engagement strategies. During his tenure at Purdue University, he helped establish the institution as a national model for integrating promotion, tenure, and engagement. Known for his dynamic and inspirational approach, Dr. Abel brings both a broad perspective and a strong connection to TTUs engagement initiatives.
