ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS FOR RE-REGISTRATION

It is recommended that the Constitution and By-Laws of the student organization be reviewed regularly, this can easily be done as a part of the annual re-registration process.
The needs of the organization will change over time, and it is important to review the Constitution and By-Laws regularly.
Student Involvement recommends that your organization upload a copy of the latest Constitution and By-Laws to the "Documents" section of the student organization's TechConnect page so all members can review it. A review and study of the Constitution and By-Laws should be included when officer transition is conducted.

STUDENT ORGANIZATION BYLAWS

By-laws establish specific rules of guidance by which the organization is to function. The Constitution covers fundamental principles, but not procedures for operating the Constitution.

By-laws outline in detail the procedures the organization must follow to conduct business in an orderly manner. They provide further definition(s) to the Constitution and can be changed more easily as the needs of the organization change. By-laws must not contradict provisions in the Constitution.

Student Involvement accepts a Constitution and/or By-laws. They can be included in the same document. The Constitution/By-laws must meet the requirements of the Student Handbook.
