Mr. Andrew Buchok has a Bachelor of Science in Wind Energy and STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics) MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Texas Tech
University completed in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Additionally, he has completed
the Graduate Certificate in Wind Energy in both Technical and Managerial tracks. Mr.
Buchok, is an expert in the Renewable Energy project development area. He has been
with the Renewable (formerly Wind) Energy Program since 2016, and has extensive connections
with the Renewable Energy project development professionals.
He teaches foundational courses in Renewable Energy Technology and Finance and Economics
at junior level, and moving to senior level, he teaches Renewable Energy Project Development
classes that are critical for professional preparation of RE program students as developers,
analysts, or site operators. Mr. Buchok also teaches the study abroad to Peru course
typically during Spring, which is one of the global component requirements for students
to graduate in the program. His visits to Peru are of great service to the rural local
communities since the assignments students are involved in result in creating microgrids
and systems that provide grid-intendent electricity and access to water.
Mr. Buchok is a member of the first Curriculum Development Committee in the Renewable Energy program that advises the faculty group on curriculum improvements. He also has contributed to wind energy research research. His publication on characterizing the relationship between varying ocean wave heights and uncertainty in wind energy resource availability was given the best poster award during the American Wind Energy Conference (AWEA) – Wind Power Expo 2017.
