Undergraduate Certificate in Renewable Energy

The Renewable Energy Certificate is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of sustainable power systems. This program requires the completion of 10 credit hours of undergraduate coursework.

Please note that no course substitutions are allowed for this certificate.

Required Courses
To earn the certificate, students must complete the following four courses:

  • RE 1300: Introduction to Renewable Energy (3 hours)
  • RE 3300: Renewable Energy Science and Technology I (3 hours)
  • RE 3301: Renewable Energy Science and Technology II (3 hours)
  • RE 3100: Renewable Energy Lab (1 hour)

How to Apply
If you are interested in earning the Renewable Energy Certificate, please follow the steps below to complete your official paperwork:

  1. Request the Form: Contact our department at renewableenergy@ttu.edu to receive the necessary application form.
  2. Fill Out Information: Provide your full name and R Number (for current TTU students).
  3. Obtain Signatures: The form must be signed by both the student and an academic advisor.
  4. Submit: Return the completed, legible form via email to renewableenergy@ttu.edu.
