Student Resources
The Student Government Association provides several services directly to students and student organizations and connects Red Raiders with university resources maintained by offices across Texas Tech.
This page focuses on commonly requested resources rather than duplicating information maintained by the university departments responsible for each service.
Student Organization Mailboxes
Registered student organizations may request a mailbox in the Student Union Building through the Student Government Association. Mailboxes are located on the second floor above the campus bookstore.
Mailbox Access
Mailbox keys are checked out through the SGA office in Student Union Building Room 302. Students must present a valid Texas Tech ID when checking out a key.
The organization president, treasurer and full-time faculty or staff advisor listed in the organization's registration record are authorized to access the mailbox. Organizations that need to authorize an additional member should contact SGA.
Using Your Mailbox
- Organizations that already have a mailbox do not need to submit a new request each year, but the organization must remain registered.
- Mailboxes should be checked regularly because space is limited.
- Mailboxes are for organization mail and should not be used for personal correspondence.
- Packages are not accepted through the SGA mailbox service.
SGA Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Student Health Insurance
Texas Tech students have access to the AcademicBlue Student Health Insurance Plan administered through Academic HealthPlans and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. Plan eligibility, enrollment requirements, costs and waiver options vary by student group.
Domestic students who meet applicable enrollment requirements may participate voluntarily. International students on non-immigrant visas are generally required to participate unless an approved waiver is granted.
Students should use the official health plan site for current enrollment periods, costs, benefits, waiver requirements, insurance ID cards and provider information.
Health & Wellness
Texas Tech provides health, counseling and wellness resources through offices across campus. Rather than maintaining a separate SGA directory of these services, students should use the university resources below for current information.

Student Health Services provides on-campus medical care, including primary and urgent care services and access to an on-site pharmacy.
Student Counseling Center
The Student Counseling Center provides mental health services and support for currently enrolled Texas Tech students.
