Spring 2023 LA Courses:

CHEM 1307- Principles of Chemistry I

CHEM 1308- Principles of Chemistry II

STEP Learning Assistants (LAs) are returning to CHEM 1307 and CHEM 1308 for the Spring 2023 semester.  Data suggests that students who work with LAs are more successful that those who do not.  We are looking for LAs that are majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry and have successfully earned an A or B in CHEM 1307 or CHEM 1308 and are interested in helping other students succeed.

To be a Learning Assistant students should be available to attend the following section(s).  LAs should not register for the course, however:

CHEM 1307 - 004- Face to Face- Dr. Louisa Hope-Weeks: T/Th- 2:00-3:20 pm

CHEM 1308 - 002 - Face to Face - Dr. Adrienne Pedrech: M/W/F 8:00 am - 8:50 am

  • Apple iPad Pro will be checked out to you for the semester (depending on supply)
  • Enhance your understanding of the content.  This is great for improving performance in advanced courses or in preparing for standardized graduate admissions exams, like the MCAT or GRE.

  • Work directly with TTU Faculty

We are looking for students who:

  • Are STEM Majors
  • Enjoy interacting and learning with fellow students
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above (preferred)
  • Earned an A or B in the courses described above
