Workshops
The TLPDC is excited to share a refreshed approach to our workshops and events! Please review the descriptions below to choose the style that fits best with your interests and availability.
Pop-Up: Our pop-up sessions are just 30 minutes and completely virtual. These provide a space
to share information, strategies, or tips in a quick format. Hopefully youll walk
away with a new tool or a simple change you can make easily in your teaching.
Traditional Workshop: Our traditional workshops are 50 minutes and offered mainly face-to-face with the
option to join virtually. We cover a wide range of topics like using AI, mentorship
and career development, how to handle classroom conflict, and more. Many sessions
are facilitated by TLPDC staff, and we also partner with other faculty and departments
to present innovative ideas and campus resources. Please note that while we do offer
a virtual option, these are designed to be delivered face-to-face and do not follow
best practices for a true synchronous format.
Connection: Connection workshops are 80 minutes and are often designed to be in-person only (with
some exceptions). These workshops have built-in time to engage beyond the presentation.
Participants will be able to engage in discussion and work on activities in small
groups.
Immersive: These long-format events provide a retreat-style opportunity for faculty to engage
with a topic on a deeper level. We ask those who register to commit by the date outlined
in the event description so that the facilitators can best prepare activities and
materials, and to give us an accurate number for the meals provided. Our goal is to
offer one face-to-face opportunity each semester.
