School of Music Learning Assistant Information

The Learning Assistants (LAs) Program is excited to be returning to the Texas Tech School of Music!  LAs will be in the classroom helping students navigate various topics.  We are looking for LAs that are in the School of Music and have successfully earned an A or B in the course they are applying for and are interested in helping other students succeed.  

To be a Learning Assistant, students should be available during the regular course times for the class(es) they apply for. LAs should not register for the course.

Summer 2026 LA Courses:

Below is a list of available LA courses in the College of Arts and Sciences:

  • MUTH 3303 (Form, Analysis, and Synthesis)
    • 101 | MWF 10:00am - 11:50am

Fall 2026 LA Courses:

Below is a list of available LA courses in the Texas Tech School of Music:

  • MUAP 1001 (Music Applied)
  • MUAP 2001 (Applied Music: Flute Lessons)
  • MUTH 1303 (Elementary Music Theory I)
    • 001 | MWF 8:00am - 8:50am
    • 002 | MWF 9:00am - 9:50am
    • 005 | MWF 9:00am - 9:50am
    • 006 | MWF 11:00am - 11:50am
  • MUTH 2303 (Intermediate Music Theory I)
    • 003 | MWF 10:00am - 10:50am
    • 004 | MWF 08:00am - 08:50am

Fall 2026 Learning Assistant Application

We are looking for students who:

  • Enjoy interacting and learning with fellow students
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above (preferred)
  • Earned an A or B in the courses described above
  • Positions will be filled as needed

Benefits:

  • Enhance your understanding of the content.  This is great for improving performance in advanced courses or in preparing for standardized graduate admissions exams, like the MCAT or GRE.
