In Profile: AFS grad Franklin continues life-long dream of entering medical field

With the help of family, agriculture and the Texas Tech College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Jordanna Franklin is achieving her life-long dream of entering the medical field. The fourth-year medical student will graduate in May from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, with hopes to begin a pediatric residency soon after. She credits her unique perspective as a med student to her experience as an animal science undergraduate.  more »

In Profile: Connor Wilmeth’s first cotton crop is a true learning experience

Connor Wilmeth is finishing up the first cotton crop he’s ever made on his own. Wilmeth, 20, is a junior plant and soil sciences major at Texas Tech University with “a passion to farm.” He secured a loan on his own this year and is growing cotton on 134 acres of leased land.  more »
