Hamed attends Saudi International Housing Symposium
Safei Hamed, an associate professor with Texas Tech University’s Department of Landscape Architecture, attended the May meeting of the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh’s 3rd International Housing Symposium in Saudi Arabia.
Design Competition. The symposium, which was held at King Fahd Cultural Center in the Saudi capital, focused on “Neighborhoods Are More Than Houses.” The event attracted urban designers, environmental planners, landscape architects, housing officials and land developers from 35 countries.
While at the meeting, Hamed served as a secretary general of the international design competition jury, which was organized by the commission. Among the 60 qualified design firms and student teams, the jury selected the top winners from Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom.
