Raider Red's Food Pantry periodically will have fresh produce. Through the months of June to October, the food pantry and the GRUB Farm partner to provide Raider Red's Food Pantry with fresh, locally grown produce, ranging from yellow squash and zuchinni, to herbs, to various greens, to assorted fruits. Catch us next harvest season!

Produce is picked-up weekly and available to TTU students at the food pantry.

Community Resource Option:  Check out the South Plains Food Bank for food assistance.  Apply for a food voucher https://www.spfb.org/get-help/ in order to receive food from SPFB.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP):  Eligibility benefits have been extended to more college students! Check to see if you qualify by visiting the USDA webpage regarding SNAP and college students.

 Raider Red's Food Pantry Mission:

Raider Red's Food Pantry will provide students with short-term access to supplemental food. We will also connect students with resources on and off campus in an effort to support student wellbeing.

Raider Red's Food Pantry Guidelines:

  • Students must be currently enrolled at TTU and present their student ID at the time of visit.
  • Students will have access to Raider Red's Food Pantry in person during posted hours.
  • Students can access the the food pantry 3 times per semester. Usage beyond 3 times per semester will be considered after a meeting with a staff member from the the Raider Relief - Advocacy and Resource Center

How does Raider Red's Food Pantry work?

Students who need food are encouraged to visit the pantry to receive nonperishable food items.  Students may come by anytime the pantry is open to pick out needed items. No proof of income is necessary to visit the food pantry. There is a short intake form that will need to be completed.

What are the Spring 2023 hours of operation for Raider Red's Food Pantry?

Spring hours of operation will be the same every week. If there is a change to the schedule, it will be updated on this page. 

Please note that Raider Red's Food Pantry will follow any weather-related delays/instructions as released by Texas Tech University.

How do I utilize Raider Red's Food Pantry?

Stop by the food pantry, Doak Hall 117, during the published Spring 2023 hours of operation and select needed items.

Donations

Does Raider Red's Food Pantry accept donations?

Yes, Raider Red's Food Pantry is always accepting donations. Donations can be sent using our Amazon Wish List.  If dropping off donations, please reach out to foodpantry@ttu.edu to schedule a time. We cannot accept damaged, opened or expired items.  At this time, please schedule donation drop off times if you have a lot of items to donate.

What kind of donations does Raider Red's Food Pantry need? Granola and protein bars, bags of chips, mac-n-cheese, cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, ramen/cup of noodles, canned seafood (tuna, salmon) canned meats (chicken, ham, beef, etc), canned beans (black, pinto, garbanzo), canned fruit (citrus, peaches, pear, and pineapple), soups, ravioli and other pre-cooked pastas, canned vegetables (mixed vegetables, corn, mushrooms, etc), grains (rice, beans, lentils) pasta (microwavable or non-microwavable) and pasta sauce.  Other items needed include spices, shelf milk, gluten-free items, and vegan/vegetarian items.  Hygiene products are also available, needed donations include: bar soap, body wash, toothpaste, tooth brushes, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioners.
