Meet the Staff
Assistant Dean of Students
As Assistant Dean of Students with the Office of Center for Campus Life and Dean of Students, she is primarily responsible for leading the services which center on student crisis, student emergency, and Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). Additionally, assist with the diverse generalist programs, services and responsibilities of the Dean of Students area.
Denise has more than 15 years' experience in an academic setting. During this she has been through previous positions which require her involvement with assisting students in need and coordinating many programs. She has a Master's of Public Administration from Wayland Baptist University-Lubbock.
Denise enjoys spending time with family and volunteering at her church.
Assistant Dean of Students
Dr. Massengale serves as the Managing Director for Parent and Family Relations and an Assistant Dean of Students. Her role as an Assistant Dean of Students include providing to support for Graduate students, students in financial crisis, and support for families. She has 18 years of experience in Student Affairs and as experience in a variety of areas including: Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Involvement and activities, Parent and Family Relations, Spirit programs, Red to Black Peer Financial Coaching, and special projects.
Dr. Massengale has a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University.
As Administrator with the Office of the Dean of Students, she is primarily responsible for providing services which center on student academic processes, students of concern, and assists with the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). Additionally, she works closely with our Assistant Deans with the diverse generalist programs, services and responsibilities of the Dean of Students area.
Sarah has 2 years' experience in an academic setting. During this she has been through previous positions which require her involvement with assisting students in need and is also serving as a Staff Senator for 2017-2020. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech in 2009 and is currently working on her Master's in Communication Studies here at Texas Tech.
Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and reading a good book when time allows.
Senior Administrative Assistant
Deborah Green is the Senior Administrative Assistant for Dean of Students and Student Affairs. She is a Lubbock native who began working for Texas Tech in March 2012 within Information Systems. Deborah has an extensive office administrative background and a passion for helping others to succeed.
Since joining the Office of the Dean of Students, she serves as an initial contact for both students and parents by providing information, scheduling appointments, or directing to other resources.
