Scholarships
High school and transfer students quality for merit scholarships when meeting the criteria below. Additional competitive-based university, college and departmental scholarships are also available. Students should apply for admission for consideration (ApplyTexas, Coalition or CommonApp). No additional scholarship application is needed.
The priority scholarship application deadline is December 1. Applications received after this date will be considered in the order they are received.
Freshman Merit Scholarships
Presidential Merit Scholarships are awarded to entering first-time freshmen who show exceptional academic ability. Annual award amounts pay one-half toward fall and one-half toward spring terms. If you are a non-resident awarded a Presidential Scholarship, you will also qualify to pay in-state tuition. All merit awards are guaranteed for students admitted by May 1. Deadline to accept the award is May 1. TTU Costa Rica Students are not eligible for scholarships.;

Test Optional Scholarships Students will designate if they would like to be test optional for both admission and scholarships on the application. Once an admission decision has been made, the test-optional designation cannot be changed. |
Transfer Scholarships
Transfer Scholarships are offered to students who are admitted as transfer students based on official transcripts submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and pay toward fall and spring terms. Complete requirements early - final awards are based on transcripts received by July 31st for fall or January 15th for spring entry terms.
Non-residents awarded a Texas Tech competitive scholarship of $1,000 or greater (including Proven Achievers) will qualify to pay in-state tuition.

Red Raider Guarantee
In an effort to increase access to higher education, Texas Tech has implemented a plan to guarantee tuition and mandatory fees to new entering freshmen and transfer students with an associate's degree, who are Texas residents, have a family adjusted gross income that does not exceed $65,000, have demonstrated financial need, and who will be enrolled full time.
