Ag Council

The Student Agricultural Council consists of active Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources clubs, organization and competitive teams. They work to establish and maintain a working relationship between students, faculty, administration and the Davis College community.

PRESIDENT | KAYLEE HOPKINS
Kaylee Hopkins is a Junior Agricultural Education major from Aledo, Texas. She currently
serves as president of Ag Council & AgriTechsans and is a member of Agricultural Educators
of Tomorrow. She has a passion for educating and advocating about the agriculture
industry and sharing her love for Texas Tech with others! In her free time, she enjoys
traveling, shopping, and finding new places & things to enjoy with her friends & family!

VICE-PRESIDENT | HUNTER WERNECKE
Vice-President Hunter Wernecke is a Sophomore studying Ag Leadership with a minor
in Ag Business from Mineola, Texas. He is heavily involved throughout student organizations,
including Alpha Gamma Rho, Agri - Techsans, Ag Council, and Matador Collegiate Farm
Bureau. He has a strong passion for competitive livestock and saltwater fishing. Hunter
is looking forward to this upcoming year by working with Davis College clubs and orgs
and making the most out of there year!

SECRETARY | MATTISON SMITH
Mattison Smith is an agricultural communications major from Quitman, Texas. She is
Secretary of Ag Council, Vice President of Matador Collegiate, member of Block and
Bridle, and Agri-Techsans. She has a passion for all things agriculture, travel, and
making the most of every moment. She is looking forwards to serving Ag Council and
improving clubs and organizations within Davis College.

TREASURER | URIEL ROSALES
Uriel Rosales is a Sophomore Agribusiness major from Jacksonville, Texas. He currently
serves as Treasurer of Ag Council, Social Events Chair for MANRRS, and is also a member
of AgriTechsans. Uriel balances his academics with three jobs outside of school and
takes pride in being a first-generation college student. He has a strong passion for
building success and creating opportunities for others who dont have the same chances
to thrive in the agriculture industry. In his free time, he enjoys working toward
his goals and finding new ways to grow both personally and professionally.

REPORTER | ASHLYNN ROGERS
Reporter Ashlynn Rogers is a senior Agricultural Education major with a concentration
in Leadership from Brock, Texas. Ashlynn was a summer 2025 Davis College Congressional
Intern and is excited to serve as your reporter!
