Dr. and Mrs. Calvin Brints Agricultural Economics Endowed Scholarship

 

The Dr. and Mrs. Calvin Brints Agricultural Economics Scholarship was established by Brints Cotton Marketing, Inc. in 1980. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students of all classifications, majoring in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics.

Dr. Calvin Brints attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics in 1969. He continued on to The University of Minnesota Duluth where he received his master's and doctorate in Agricultural Economics. While at Texas Tech, he participated in various organizations such as: Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, Student Senate, Agricultural Economics Association, Saddle Tramps, and Beta Gamma Sigma. He was recognized for his contribution to the agricultural industry by the College of Agricultural Sciences by being named an Outstanding Agriculturist in the area of Agribusiness in 1982.

Calvin is married to Susan Brints and they have three children-Aimee Martin and her husband, Brigham Martin, Nicole Brints-Viner and her husband, Pierre Viner, and Travis Brints and his wife Brenda. Aimee, Brigham, Nicole, Travis, and Brenda are all alumni of Texas Tech University.
