Richardson Seeds Endowed Scholarship in Agricultural Communications

 

The Richardson Seeds Scholarship Endowment in Agricultural Communications was established by Richardson Seeds in 2010. The scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Agricultural Communications within the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.

Ricardson Seeds, LTD is a company in Lubbock who produces hybrid grain sorghum all across the North Plains of Texas. They also conduct research in sorghum breeding and genetics and are leading the industry in new research and production.

Richardson Seeds is led by former Owner and now President Larry Richardson and CFO David Drinnon. Larry received a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from Texas Tech University in 1981. His wife, Monica, received a BSE in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University the same year. Along with Richardson Sees, LTD, Larry is Owner of Larry Richardson Farms.

He is a former member of the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources Advisory Board. Larry was recognized for his accomplishments and dedication to the university by receiving the Distinguished Alumni and Young Alumnus Award in 2012. Larry and Monica have two grown daughters, Rachael Holder, who received a BSN in Nursing from Texas Tech University in 2010 and Sharise, who received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood from Texas Tech University in 2015.
