Jay and Billie Stribling Endowed Scholarship

The Jay and Billie Stribling Scholarship Endowment was established in 2013 by Tracy and Teri Davis to provide scholarships to students in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences with a preference to students focusing in beef production.

Billie Stewart Stribling Age 81, died at home on September 22, 2009. She was born on January 24, 1928 in Lubbock County, Texas. Billie lived in Santa Fe, where she graduated from high school and moved to Albuquerque in the 1950's. She formerly worked for the State of New Mexico in the State Capitol, Secretary of State's Office, and the Welfare Department in Albuquerque. She retired from the AON (formerly Clinton P. Anderson) Insurance Agency.

Billie and her husband, Jay, were directors and officers in the New Mexico Black Angus Association. Billie and Jay volunteered for many years at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband; her father, Raymond Stewart; and her mother, Jewell Stewart Nix. She is survived by her cousins: Geraldine Bass Saffle, and Teri Bryce Davis, both of Lubbock, Wayne Farley and Chad Farley of Flower Mound, TX, Tim Sullivan of Albany, MS; and special friends: Jack and Marcia Feely of Albuquerque, NM, and Alan and Nancy Robinson of Apache Creek, NM.
