The Rex and Nancy Isom Family Honor's Scholarship was established in 2007 by the Joe and Nan Johnson Family Foundation and Rex and Nancy Isom. Scholarships support Honor's College students who are majoring within the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.

Rex received a bachelor's degree in Animal Business from Texas Tech University in 1978. Nancy received a bachelor's in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University in 1980. They are current members of the Chancellor's Council and Texas Tech Alumni Association Ambassadors, Nancy being the Chair of the latter. Rex is a former member and Past President of the Texas Tech Alumni Foundation Board. Nancy is a current member of the Texas Tech Alumni Association Board of Directors. They have three grown children: Clayton, who received a BBA in Business Economics from Texas Tech University in 2004; Travis, who received a BBA in General Business from Texas Tech University in 2010; and Ember, who is a current General Studies major at Texas Tech University.

Rex is also the Executive Director for Texas Soil & Water Conservation Board and on the Board of Directors for the Texas FFA Foundation. The couple has several scholarships established in their name and are large supports of the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources.
