L. Edward Marvin Endowed Scholarship


The L. Edward Marvin Scholarship Endowment in Landscape Architecture funded by the George and Fay Young Foundation was established by Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Marvin in 1997. This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduates students who are majoring in the Department of Landscape Architecture.

Mr. Marvin graduated from Texas Tech University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Park Administration. He served as the Executive Vice President/Director for Restland of Dallas, Inc. where we was in charge of planning and development of the landscape of the cemetery. Restland encompasses almost 400 acres and has various gardens, water displays, and chapels across the park.

He also served as the Administrator of Funds for the George and Fay Young Foundation, Inc., a private non-profit organization that funds grants for organizations based on education, animal awareness, health, and programs promoting positive change in communities, families, and individuals.
