Established in 1998 by the Texas Seed Trade Association, family and friends in memory
of Don Ator. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students in the Department
of Plant and Soil Science with an academic focus on Crops or Soils.
Donald Ator graduated from Texas Tech University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science
in Soil Science. He went to work for the Texas Seed Trade Association and eventually
retired as the Executive Vice President. He and his wife Patsy had five children,
Diana, David, Donald Jr., Karen and Mahlon. Donald passed away in 1998 in Pflugerville,
TX.
