Margaret Coil Endowment for Floral Design

The Margaret Coil Endowment for Floral Design was established by the Lubbock Council of Garden Clubs with Keith Moffett in 1999. The endowment is used for program support, scholarships and/or student competition expenses for the floral design classes.

Margaret Coil, a native of Oklahoma, moved to Lubbock in 1949. She had a long interest in gardening, and in 1960 became a charter member of the Petal Pushers Garden Club. She was also a charter member of the South Plains Plant Society. In 1965, she became accredited as a National Council of State Garden Clubs Flower Show Judge and was also a Master Texas Design Consultant. Mrs. Coil held various offices in numerous garden club groups including the President of Texas Garden Clubs, Inc.

She was married to L.H. Coil and they had two daughters, Patricia and Laura. She passed away in 2008 in Dallas, TX.
