The Dow AgroSciences Graduate Fellowship Endowment was established by the Triumph
Seed Company, Mr. Noble Koepp and Mr. Joel Tankersley in 1994. The purpose of this
endowment is to provide support for fellowships and graduate students focusing in
agronomy.
Dow AgroSciences began in the 1950s as the agricultural unit of The Dow Chemical Company.
From the beginning, they have set out to discover and develop innovative solutions
that improve the way the world farms.
In 1989, The Dow Chemical Company, which was founded in 1897, entered a joint venture
with the Elanco Plant Sciences business of Eli Lilly and Company resulting in the
formation of DowElanco. In 1997, The Dow Chemical Company acquired 100 percent ownership
of the business and renamed it Dow AgroSciences. Today, they employ more than 9,000
people worldwide, and their 2016 global sales were $6.2 billion (U.S.).
