The Noble and Kay Koepp Endowed Graduate Fellowship was established by Noble and Kay
Koepp in 1997 to support graduate students in the Department of Plant and Soil Science.
Noble Koepp graduated from Texas Tech University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science
in Crops, and began Triumph Seed Company in Ralls, Texas. In 2008, Dow AgroSciences
LLC acquired Triumph Seed in a deal to expand the Dow Chemical unit's plant technology
business. The agreement included all commercial production as well as research and
development assets of the business.
Triumph, which was established in 1965, markets sunflower, corn and sorghum seeds
across the U.S. and in 25 other countries. Noble, who was the president and owner
of Triumph at the time of the sale, remained with the company in a leadership and
strategic planning capacity. He also owns Noble Koepp Consulting.
