Jane Piercy named CASNR Director of Development
Texas Tech University's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources today announced the selection of Jane Piercy as its new Director of Development and External Relations. She previously served as a development officer with Texas Tech University Libraries.
"We're very pleased to have Jane join the college," said John M. Burns, interim dean of CASNR. "Her extensive professional experience combined with her knowledge of Texas Tech will be strong assets as she works with the college's leadership to achieve its goals."
Enhance Support. One of the goals of the development and alumni relations office is to enhance, promote and support the academic programs and research efforts of CASNR. Currently, the college has a total endowment of $36 million, as well as 11 endowed chairs and professorships.
Piercy, who is a native of Texline, earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas Tech. She has served as president of Association of Fund-Raising Professionals and was a member of the Lubbock Community Theater Board of Directors.
Strong Background. Prior to coming to Texas Tech, Piercy was executive director of the Court Appointed Special Advocates of the South Plains, Inc. and earlier served as victim/witness coordinator with the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney's Office. She is married to Scott Piercy, a graduate of Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics and currently manager of Poole Chemical Company's Industrial Products Group.
The staff of CASNR's Development and External Relations office includes Memory Bennett, coordinator of alumni relations; Becky Broadstreet, coordinator of college development; and Lori Pineda, senior business assistant.
Scott Cooksey, CASNR's former Director of Development and External Relations, last month was named associate vice chancellor for development with Texas Tech University System's Institutional Advancement Office. He took the new post on Jan. 1, and will lead the Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University System development officer team.
