AECO annual fertilizer sale underway in February
With the spring growing season on the horizon, Texas Tech University's Agricultural Economics Association has announced that it is holding its annual fertilizer sale. Officials said this is an excellent opportunity to purchase an annual supply of complete lawn and garden fertilizer with added benefit of free delivery.
Two types of fertilizer specially blended for the South Plains region are available this season. One is 21-7-7 Ag Eco Fertilizer, which is 21 percent nitrogen, 7 percent phosphorous, 7 percent potassium, 12 percent sulfur, and percent 2 percent iron. The application rate is 20 lbs/1000 sq. ft. The price is $18 for a 40-pound bag.
The second is Fertilome Weed 'n Feed with Simizine herbicide, which is composed of 20 percent nitrogen, 4 percent potash, and 0.1 percent iron. It is for use on St. Augustine and Bermuda grass. The application rate is 16 lbs. 2500 sq. ft. The cost is $18 for a 16-pound bag.
The fertilizer will be delivered on Feb. 28. Benefits from the fertilizer sale are used to support the Agricultural Economics Association Scholarships.
