Sigma Alpha unveils new 'Men of CASNR' calendar
Texas Tech students may be noticing a new calendar gracing the university's office cubicles and dormitory walls, a home-grown reminder that's in direct competition with more traditional counterparts featuring cuddly pets and cartoon characters.
The new calendar, titled 'Men of CASNR 2009,' is the work of Sigma Alpha, a professional sorority for women in agriculture. CASNR is short for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
Fund Raising. "The purpose of the calendar was to raise money for our organization in a new and exciting way," said Ashley Larkin, the sorority's secretary and a sophomore interdisciplinary agriculture major from Houston. "It was a great way to highlight guys that are involved and well known throughout the college. We're also proud of how the calendar captures many of the campus' landmarks."
Indeed, the 12 students featured in the calendar are heavily involved in CASNR-sponsored organizations and activities ranging from judging team participation to Block and Bridle to Alpha Gamma Rho and collegiate 4-H and FFA, she said
