Eight CASNR professors promoted by Tech Board of Regents
At its March meeting, the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents approved academic advancement for eight College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources faculty members.
According to today's announcement by the Office of the Provost and the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, David Doerfert with the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications, Mindy Brashears, Department of Animal and Food Sciences and Craig Bednarz with the Department of Plant and Soil Science were promoted to professor.
Tenure Status. Separately, Todd Brashears with the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications, Robert Wright with the Department of Plant and Soil Science, along with the Department of Animal and Food Sciences' Christine Alvarado, Chance Brooks and Pawan Takhar, received tenure and a promotion to associate professor.
Tenure is a status granted after a trial period to a professor that acknowledges his or her contributions to the teaching and research mission of the university. The promotions will be effective in September, while the tenure is effective immediately.
