CASNR's Danielle McGuire receives WAEA Outstanding Senior Award
A standout student from Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics has been selected to receive the 'Outstanding Senior Award' from the Western Agricultural Economics Association, officials with the university's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources reported today (April 19).
Danielle McGuire, a senior agricultural economics major from Gardendale, will be recognized on July
1 at the annual Meeting Western Agricultural and Resource Economics Association and
Canadian Agricultural Economics Society in Banff, Canada.
She was presented the award at the Agricultural Economics Association's Annual Steak-Fry Appreciation Banquet in Texas Tech's Merket Alumni Center.
"This award recognizes outstanding seniors who've achieved excellence in their academic achievements," said Eduardo Segarra, professor and department chairman. "The WAEA believes excellent undergraduates like Danielle have a great deal to offer in terms of future contributions to agricultural, resource and environmental economics in the western states."
According to program officials, the Western Agricultural Economics Association is a professional society that aims to foster an understanding of agricultural economics and its application to problems in the western United States and Canada.
