Spring commencement caps semester for CASNR faculty, students
More than 3,275 Texas Tech students, including 151 from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, received diplomas at the university's commencement ceremonies Saturday (May 13) at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock.
During the event outstanding students carried banners representing their respective colleges. Kaci Waller, an agricultural communications major from Ira, represented CASNR. Administrators selected the banner bearers based on all-around achievement.
Officials noted that the highest ranking May graduates for CASNR were Danielle McQuire, an agricultural and applied economics major from Gardendale; and Caleb Crosswhite, an animal science major from McKinney.

Kent Hance, chancellor of the Texas Tech University System, was the commencement speaker. As chancellor, Hance serves as the chief executive officer of the 12 campuses of Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Angelo State University.
