China agriculture prof joins ongoing Texas Tech water management project
Zongren Kuang, an associate professor from the College of Humanities and Development at China Agricultural University, has joined Texas Tech's Department of Agricultural Education and Communications as a visiting professor. He began his duties on Monday (Sept. 19).
In the past Kuang has focused his research in communication for rural development and innovation, as well as the production of scientific and educational films. He will be working with David Doerfert, a fellow professor in the department, on ongoing agricultural water management-related research efforts until next July.
"The level of agricultural education and communications research at my home university is very similar to research done here," Kuang said, "so I wanted to come here to learn more about what is being done."
Prior to working at China Agricultural University, Kuang received his bachelor's degree in education technology from JiangXi University and master's degree in science and educational film production from ShanDong University. His doctorate in communication for rural development is from China Agricultural University.
Located in Beijing, China Agricultural University was established in 1995 as a combination of Beijing Agricultural University and Beijing Agricultural Engineering University. It is currently composed of 13 colleges spanning agronomy, engineering, science, economics, law, literature, medicine and philosophy. The university currently has more than 20,000 students and almost 1,400 faculty members.Written by Kelsey Fletcher
