Megan Nazworth, a senior animal science, pre-veterinary option within Texas Tech's Department of Animal and Food Sciences was selected as the Aggie of the Month during the student Agricultural Council meeting in October 2013. The Amarillo native represents the Texas Tech Pre-Vet Society, and said she came to Tech for two main reasons. "I was really drawn to Texas Tech by the strong animal science program," Nazworth said, "as well as the esteemed faculty in the department." She said her favorite thing about the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is getting to work closely with professors. Through this experience, Nazworth said it has helped her hone her interpersonal skills, as well as build a network of professional contacts within the Lubbock community and throughout the state. Nazworth said she is honored that her peers believe she exhibits the qualities that merit the award. "I'm passionate about promoting a positive image of our college," Nazworth said, "and I am grateful for such a prestigious honor." Upon a May graduation, Nazworth hopes to attend veterinary school at Texas A&M University and later maintain a career as a mixed-animal veterinarian.
