Summer Session; CASNR interns spend summer learning the ropes in Washington
Four students from Texas Tech's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will be spending the summer working as interns in the nation's capital. Running from June through August, the college's congressional summer intern program affords selected students an opportunity to experience first-hand the government's day-to-day operations.
"Intern selections are always an exciting and difficult process," said Lori Dudley, the coordinator for undergraduate programs in the college's Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center. "The program is one of the most unique student programs that the college has for CASNR students."
This year's CASNR summer interns include:- Tayler Green, a junior agricultural and applied economics major from Ropesville. (Mike Conaway; R-Texas-11)
- Shelbi Knisley, a senior dual degree major in agricultural and applied economics, and business administration from Corsicana. (House Committee on Agriculture (majority office)
- Linsey Ogden, a junior animal science major from Loving, NM. (Steve Pearce; R-New Mexico-2 and Randy Neugebauer; R-Texas-19)
- Samantha Piercy, a senior animal science major from Lubbock. (Pete Gallego; D-Texas-23)
