Texas Tech ACT Chapter shines at nat'l Ag Media Summit in Indianapolis
Led by its public relations students, Texas Tech's Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow chapter had a strong showing this week at the national 'Ag Media Summit' in Indianapolis. Program officials said more than 600 participants attended the summit, one of the largest gatherings of crop and livestock publications professionals in the United States.
During the conference, students received awards and professional feedback from the National ACT Critique & Contest, which consists of competitors from universities across the nation. Among the Tech winners were:
- Public Relations Division: 1st place, Campaign, Jaclyn Roberts and Bailey Hogg; 1st place, News Release, MacKenzie Fletcher
- Publication Division: 2nd place, Magazine, "The Agriculturist," Garrett Couts, editor; David Doerfert, adviser
- Writing Division: 2nd place, Research Related Writing, Lynsey Meharg; 2nd place, Short Personality Feature Profile, Lynsey Meharg
- Photography Division: 2nd place, Photo Series, Lynsey Meharg
The Ag Media Summit is a joint meeting of the American Agricultural Editors Association, Livestock Publications Council and the Association of Business Media Companies Agri-Council. This event also served as the national conference for the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow.
