Fall Commencement; CASNR students featured at December ceremonies

More than 2,300 students, including 124 from Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, received diplomas at the university's fall commencement ceremonies Saturday (Dec. 13) at the United Supermarkets Arena, located at 18th Street and Indiana Avenue.
During the event, outstanding students carried banners representing their respective colleges. Stacie McKinney an animal science major from Keller, represented CASNR. Administrators selected the banner bearers based on all-around achievement. McKinney was also the highest ranking August graduate for the college.
Graduation recipients from the individual departments and majors included:

- Natural Resources Management: 24
- Plant and Soil Science: 1
Commencement speaker for the afternoon program was Mica Endsley, chief scientist of the U.S. Air Force and a Tech alumna. She is the chief scientific adviser to the chief of staff and Secretary of the Air Force. She previously was president of SA Technologies in Marietta, Ga. She served as a visiting associate professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as an associate professor of industrial engineering at Tech.
