"I chose to transfer to Texas Tech for its combination of academic excellence, opportunities in research, science influenced animal science degree program, and opportunities to be a part of many different extracurricular activities," she said.
Petry said her favorite things about Tech and CASNR are the friendliness of its students and its academic opportunities. "My favorite thing about CASNR is the hands-on learning opportunities."
After graduation, Petry plans to pursue a master's degree in animal nutrition followed by a doctoral degree. Ultimately, she wants to pursue a career in research, working to find technology that helps reduce the effects of post weaning growth lag in piglets.
