Thirty-one CASNR students honored as Dean's Scholars Award winners at ICC
Top academic standouts from Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources will be recognized as Dean's Scholars on Tuesday (Mar. 10) at a special ceremony held in the International Cultural Center's Hall of Nations. The awards, funded by various donations to the college, are based on academic excellence as well as leadership, character and citizenship.
"These scholarships were established by the college to reward academic excellence and to support studious young men and women who choose to major in agricultural and natural sciences," said Michael Galyean, dean of Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
The Gold Award winners are:
- Kristina Brumley, a sophomore from Orange Grove
- Ryder Cude, a junior from Goree
- Sadie Dierschke, senior from San Angelo" Jacob Gresham, a senior from Lubbock
- Leah Kimbrell, a sophomore from Sunray
- Tate Leatherwood, a sophomore from Florence
- Christopher Mitchell, a junior from Lubbock
- Cole Perkins, a freshman from Llano
- Autumn Ritchey, a senior from Houston
- Dalton Tidwell, a sophomore from Sherman
- Dakotah Watson, a junior from Ralls
Silver Award winners are:
- Treyson Antonick, a senior from Overton
- Jessica Corder, a senior from McKinney

- Kelsey Hickok, a freshman from Crawford
- Thomas Jennings, a junior from Fredonia

The Gold Award scholarship is a $14,400 ($3,600 per year for four years) and requires a minimum SAT score of 1,420 or ACT score of 32 and must be in the top 5 percent of graduating class. The Silver Award scholarship is a $9,600 ($2,400 per year for four years) and requires a minimum SAT score of 1,340 or ACT score of 30, and must be in the top 10 percent of graduating class.
