Agricultural Council: Jack Clark named April 'Aggie of the Month'
Name: Jack Clark; Major: Agricultural Communications; Classification: Junior; Organization: Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow; Hometown: Hartley; Month: April
Jack Clark, a junior agricultural communications major from Hartley, received Ag Council's April Aggie of the Month. Clark said because of the quality of the program and students at Texas Tech University in the College of Agriculture Sciences & Natural Resources, he is humbled to have received this honor.
"Texas Tech and CASNR sets students up to be extremely successful and as a result there are many tremendous students here," Clark said. "To be 'Aggie of the Month' in such an amazing college is a tremendous honor for me."
As well as being heavily involved in Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, Clark can be found in leadership roles in many other organizations across the college like Ambassadors for Agriculture, Alpha Gamma Rho, Collegiate FFA and Ag Council. After graduation in May of 2017, Clark said he has aspirations of one day working as a communications director for an agriculture organization.
He said it was his passion for working with producers and consumers alike that sparked his interest in agricultural communications and pursuing his degree at Tech.
"I came to Texas Tech to be a part of the best agricultural communications program in the country and for the people," Clark said. "I was nervous as a freshman growing up in a small town, but immediately I felt like I was at home."
Clark said his initial interest in Tech was the quality of his degree plan, but he has since seen the college has offered him much more than that and he is proud to be a CASNR student at Tech.
"My favorite thing is the family atmosphere Texas Tech and CASNR has for its students" he said. "I have never met a professor in CASNR who didn't care about each and every student."
